Development Center for Composites Automation

The center is located within our Atlanta facility, serves our global center of excellence and expedites precision-formatted product and process development to reduce time to production and production efficiency, maximizing material yield for life of the program.

The Development Center, is the only facility fully dedicated to testing new carbon fiber prepreg composites for qualification and use in both Automated Fiber Placement (AFP) and Automated Tape Laying (ATL) manufacturing equipment. This accelerates end-to-end material development and qualification cycles, reduces capital and labor costs, and speeds products to market.

The self-contained operation features dedicated pilot slitting/spooling lines to assess material processability, a material analysis lab to determine the optimum environmental factors for successful composite formatting, and secure visitor conference rooms for productive onsite visits.

Thermoplastic Composite Development & Qualification Center

Also co-located within our Atlanta, GA, facility, the Thermoplastic Composite Development & Qualification Center is specifically designed, staffed, and equipped for the purpose of creating processes to format thermoplastic carbon fiber prepreg materials, including PEEK, PEKK and PPS, for use in various fabrication technologies. This facility also proves and qualifies the equipment that will process emerging thermoplastic composite formats.

State-of-the-art Center of Excellence for MLI and Soft Goods Production

As part of the he Web Industries facility in Denton, TX this Center of Excellence offers:

  • Optimized designs that enable quick turnaround and easy prototyping
  • Precision manufacturing supported by up-to-the-minute technology for cutting, seaming,quilting, and finishing
  • Integrated snaps, grommets, fasteners, hook-and-loop systems, and other sewn features that replace finishing operations and simplify installation
  • Experienced kitting that streamlines inventories and supply chains
